Lone star mountain biking

It just might surprise you. Located on the banks of Lake Buchanan just 60 miles northwest of Austin, Spider Mountain is home to Texas’ first and only lift-served mountain bike park and the only lift-served, year-round mountain bike park in the U.S.

Since its opening in January 2019, Spider Mountain Bike Park has become the most talked-about bike destination in Texas. Developed by a group of mountain biking pioneers who call themselves the Trail Party (sounds fun, right?), Spider is home to Texas’ only chairlift, the Texas Eagle. The four-person chairlift - which once called Taos Ski Valley home - transports riders 350 vertical feet to the summit, where stunning lake views and access to the park’s five trails await. With everything from Itsy Bitsy, the bike park’s signature green trail (perfect for families and beginners), to more technical rides such as Sticky Icky and Stinger, there’s a little something for everyone.
