Middle Sidewinder: We loaded up on dirt and crafted a brand-new berm, which means smoother riding and a faster corner to keep your flow strong. Rocks were picked and the exit was opened up on the first down section, so you can focus less on navigating rough spots and more on finishing strong.
Sleep Tight: We’ve set big rocks along the edges, offering clearer trail borders. Plus, we widened key sections, giving you more line options to play with. With rocks, Sleep Tight will keep you grinning from start to finish.

October 7th – October 10th
This week’s trail updates are brought to you by @thcmtb! Be sure to watch the reel and read more below. Take a moment to thank our dedicated trail crew for their incredible effort in maintaining these trails. Their hard work truly enhances the experience for all of us at Spider Mountain!
Cedar Fever
We’ve been hard at work adding multiple loads of dirt and water to rebuild two of the berms and the drop landing, making them smoother and more stable. Plus, we completed a dust blowout, so expect clearer lines, improved traction, and a bigger entrance on your next ride.
Top Sticky Icky
This trail now features a brand-new catch berm in a tricky off-camber section to keep your flow tight. We’ve also cut back some cedar trees to give you better sightlines for faster, safer riding. Lastly, the bottom off-camber right-hander got a major revamp, setting the trail up for a better, more consistent ride.
Thumper
In the mid-section, we rock-armored a crucial right-hander to enhance durability and grip. We also benched dirt to reset the trail, ensuring that it’s ready to handle the next round of riders with a solid, smooth line.
How Spider Mountain Helps
Whether you’re a beginner or advanced rider, these updates mean better flow, enhanced safety, and a more enjoyable ride. The revamped sections will help you push your limits, with smoother berms and tougher armor to keep you confident. Come check out the improvements at HCDH this Saturday and see how Spider Mountain continues to elevate your riding experience.
September 16th – September 20th
Our team has dedicated significant effort this past week to enhance your experience for what promises to be an epic race season. In addition to finalizing improvements on Cedar Fever and doing our sweep on all the trails, we’ve also tidied up the exits of Sticky Icky and Stinger as well as the base area by mowing and weeding.
Cedar Fever – The trail widening was finalized by completing the last right-hand berm for optimal turns. To enhance speed in the second section, rocks were removed from the exit of the first section, and additional dirt was added to the beginning of the second section. The trail is shaping up to be an epic ride!
September 10th – September 12th
Cedar Fever – Preparations for the HCDH event on October 12th are underway! Our team has been diligently smoothing the trail by removing stumps and jagged rocks. We began by resetting the edge of the first step down with rocks and dirt to create a better landing. Additionally, we removed a tree and added a rock ledge feature to cover the stump. Overall, the trail has been widened to enhance lines and provide more options for riders. Make sure to try it out before the race to master its curves.
September 2nd – September 5th
Centipede – It’s done! Heavy rain had caused damage to the trail, giving the crew extra work, but that’s no issue for our top-notch team. They’ve restored Centipede to a true green trail by clearing rocks and adding fresh dirt. Come give it a try this weekend!
Sticky Icky – Sticky is being prepped for the upcoming Team Trail Party race. Unlike Centipede, we’ve added rocks and fresh dirt to restore that true advanced rider experience. We’ve also trimmed the trees and brush to open up the trail and enhance rider safety.
Other projects – The most recent project on the mountain involved some basic trimming of bushes and trees beneath Texas’ only chairlift!
August 27th – August 29th
The team put in some serious effort this week to bring you more dirt! Check out the details below to see which trails received some extra care and attention.
Centipede – A fresh layer of dirt was added at the trail exit to enhance the surface and maintain its status as a green trail. The berms also received some care, with drainage ruts filled in to ensure a smoother ride.
Vipers Den Top Section – The team filled in the drainage ruts and smoothed out the transitions between the berms, creating a faster and smoother ride.
Recluse Top Section – The trail entrance just got an upgrade! The team cleared out rocks and smoothed the bumps to ensure you start your ride on the right foot.
Cedar Fever Middle Section – The roller step down now features a smoother landing! The team carefully removed rocks and bumps, allowing you to maintain speed and control throughout the feature.
August 20th – August 22nd
This week, our trail crew resembled skilled landscapers as they meticulously cleared the trails. They carefully removed weeds and trimmed back overhanging branches, ensuring every path is well-maintained. Their hard work plays a crucial role in providing our guests with a safer and more enjoyable ride experience. We’re committed to keeping our trails in top condition for everyone to enjoy. Take a look at the new updates for yourself!
August 13th – August 15th
The sweep is complete! Last week, our team cleared all our trails of rocks and loose debris to help keep your tires firmly on the ground and you safely on the trails. We’re dedicated to creating a safer experience for the entire Spider Community.
In addition, our trail crew dedicated part of their week to enhancing Sticky Icky. The second section of the trail now features some exciting upgrades! After clearing away jagged rocks, the crew added dirt to improve traction, making your ride smoother. They also removed a tree to create an extra line option, allowing for a new possible race line. To top it off, the trail’s exit was reinforced with rock armor, ensuring a strong finish to the section! Stay tuned for next weeks updates and make sure to get on Sticky Icky!
