Find your water fun just minutes from Spider Mountain on Lake Buchanan at Thunderbird Lodge! Pontoon boat rentals, stand up paddleboards, and kayaks are available for rent. Need to cool down after a ride? You’re always welcome to hop in the lake for a cool dip!

Marina

Lake Buchanan is famous for boating, fishing and other water sports.  Our convenient marina will give you easy access to your boat.  We also have slips available to accommodate larger boats.

Slips: $10 per day
Day launch pass: $10
Monthly pass: $250
Yearly pass: $700

The monthly and yearly passes are good for 31 and 365 days respectively, from the date(s) purchased.

Rent a Boat

Don’t have a boat?  No problem. We have kayaks and power boats for our guests. Gas for boats and fishing bait are available at our marina.  For the avid fishermen in your family,  ask about the fishing guide service. We are the only boat rental facility on the lake!

Pontoon, Bimini Top, Seats 10. Half Day switchover is at 1 pm

SUP – $20/hour or $75 for day

Kayaks – $20/hour or $75 for day

Paddleboat – $30/hour or $100 day

Canoe – $20/hour or $75 day

Please add 6.25% tax and fuel used to all rentals.
We supply life jackets.
Tubes are additional $15.00.

Fishing

Lake Buchanan is noted for its excellent striped bass and white bass fishing, plus largemouth bass and Guadalupe bass. White bass and striped bass runs occur in the spring (February-May) with most of the fishing occurring from Beaver Creek up into the Colorado River. Striped bass are stocked by Texas Parks and Wildlife. Blue, channel and flathead catfish, plus white crappie can be found throughout the reservoir.
