Eagle View Hiking Trail
Spider Mountain’s hiking trail, the Eagle View Trail, is 0.65 miles long and rises 330 ft in elevation. The trail is specific to hikers and allows no biking. Scenic passes are $20, making this trail the perfect option for those who would like to experience Spider Mountain’s natural beauty, but aren’t ready or able to hop on a mountain bike. Come experience stunning vistas of the Texas hill country and Lake Buchanan from Texas’ only lift-accessed hiking trail!

The Eagle View Hiking Trail is closed to all bike traffic.
How long is the hike?
The Eagle View Hiking Trail is 0.65 miles and can be looped as an out and back. On average you can expect a round-trip hike to take about 45 minutes at a good hiking pace without breaks.
Can I take the lift in one direction?
Yes! When the Texas Eagle is running you are more than welcome to take the lift up or down so that you are only hiking the trail in one direction. The scenic lift pass is $20 and can be purchased on-site at the ticket office or Thunderbird Lodge.
When can I hike?
You are welcome to hike any day from dawn until dusk! When we are spinning the lift please stop by the ticket office to purchase your scenic uplift pass for $15 and sign the liability waiver. When the lift isn’t spinning stop by the Thunderbird Lodge office to purchase your uphill access pass for $5 and sign the liability waiver.
