A New Beginner Trail Is Coming Soon
Here at Spider Mountain, we’re always looking for ways to make the mountain biking experience more accessible, enjoyable, and family-friendly. That’s why we’re excited to share a sneak peek into the next big addition to our trail network: an all-new beginner trail! This scenic route is perfect for riders of all levels, especially families looking to share an unforgettable adventure together.
What’s Special About This Trail?
This new beginner trail will be our easiest yet—yes, even gentler than Itsy Bitsy! It’s perfect for first-timers and anyone who wants to enjoy a leisurely ride surrounded by nature. Here’s what you can expect:
- Gentle Slopes and Wide Turns: The trail winds down the backside of the mountain with a gradual descent, so you can focus on having fun without worrying about steep drops or tricky terrain.
- Wide Corridor: Designed with a bit of extra room, this trail gives you the space to find your flow, making it ideal for beginners and riders getting comfortable on two wheels.
- Scenic Hill Country Views: Picture yourself riding through a corridor of trees, with the kind of peaceful, shaded environment that’s as beautiful as it is inviting.
- Stopping Point: On the first half of the trail it will open up under a small grove of oak trees—a perfect spot to pause, grab a snack, take in the views, and catch your breath.
- Cross-Country Singletrack Finish: The trail transitions into a flatter singletrack to exit, offering just a touch of variety to cap off your ride.
This will be the first trail on the backside of Spider mountain and the longest ride, equaling out to about a mile!

It’s a fantastic way to introduce kids to mountain biking in a gentle, welcoming environment.
