Things to Do at Thunderbird Lodge
Ride, swim, play, repeat! Thunderbird Lodge is packed with fun for the whole crew, right on the shores of Lake Buchanan and at the base of Spider Mountain. Whether you’re cooling off after a day of laps or kicking back for the weekend, there’s always something to do.
Pool and Deck
Our recently renovated pool is the perfect place to cool off after a day on the bike! Kick back on the big deck with views of Lake Buchanan, or grab some shade in the covered gazebo. There is no lifeguard on duty.
Lawn Games and Sports
Get the whole group in on the action with volleyball, basketball, and horseshoes! Little ones can burn off energy on our playgrounds too.
Pontoons and Water Rentals
Take the fun out on the lake! Rent a pontoon for a half or full day, or paddle out on the water. See Marina and Water Rentals
Fishing
Lake Buchanan is famous for its bass fishing, including striped, white, largemouth, and Guadalupe bass. There are several guide services in the area, so give us a call at 512-756-4878 for recommendations!
Ride Spider Mountain
Texas’ only lift-served bike park is right out your door! Bike, helmet, and protective gear rentals are available. Get Lift Tickets
Eagle View Hiking Trail
Catch amazing views of Lake Buchanan on our own hiking trail! It’s free and unlimited for lodge guests on days the bike park isn’t operating. On operating days, lift-accessed hiking is included with a day use ticket.
