Marina and Water Rentals on Lake Buchanan
Lake Buchanan is calling! Our marina at Thunderbird Lodge sits right at the base of Spider Mountain, so you can ride laps in the morning and be out on the water by afternoon. Launch your own boat, rent a pontoon for the crew, or grab a paddleboard and go explore. It’s the best of Texas Hill Country, all in one spot!
Non-bikers need a $20 ticket, available at the base of Spider Mountain or at Thunderbird Lodge, to access the lake, scenic lift rides, pool, and more.
Boat Launch
Bring your boat and hit the water! Lodge guests with a current reservation launch for FREE.
- Day Launch Pass: $20, good for 24 hours from purchase
- Monthly Launch Pass: $250, good for 31 days from purchase
- Yearly Launch Pass: $700, good for 365 days from purchase

Boat slips are available at our marina for $10 per day!
Fuel Dock
Thunderbird Lodge has the ONLY on-water gas on Lake Buchanan! Save yourself the trip and gas up right at our marina.

Pontoon Rentals
Round up your crew for a day on the lake! Our Silver 2022 Suncatcher Pontoon Boat has a 90 HP motor and seats 9.
- Half Day: $350 (8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, or 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM)
- Full Day: $550 (8:00 AM to 4:00 PM)
- $200 deposit required to book
- Please add 8.25% tax and fuel used. We supply life jackets.
Paddleboards and Kayaks
- Stand Up Paddleboards: $25 per hour or $75 full day
- Kayaks: $25 per hour or $75 full day
