Lake Buchanan
The bike park is everyone’s place to be but what happens when you need to cool down? LAKE BUCHANAN happens! Lake Buchanan is known for its many activities that revolve around it and to make this even better, the lake levels are on the rise.
Right at the bottom of Spider Mountain is our very own Thunderbird Lodge. The Thunderbird Lodge not only has an access to Lake Buchanan but also has a marina and slips for rent. This allows holding a boat on the lake for days if not weeks. Bring your boat out and make sure to enjoy some time on the water for your summer vacation.

Make sure to mix it up and include more lake activities on your visit. Bring out the kayaks and stand-up paddle boards (SUPs) for a day of exploration on the water. These activities can give you a great workout while still having the option to relax. Thunderbird Lodge has rentals so make sure to book your extra time on the water.
Take your lake day to the next level by reeling in some fun! Lake Buchanan is known for its incredible fishing. Whether you’re a fan of the striped, white, largemouth, or Guadalupe, our lake is a bass haven! Feeling adventurous? Launch your boat or give our Thunderbird Lodge a ring for guide recommendations.
Hiking in Hill Country
The Hill Country experience would not be complete without a little dosage of hiking. The area surrounding Spider Mountain has some incredible views and trails of all levels.
Our favorite trail is Eagle View Trail located right here at Spider Mountain. This trail gives exceptional views of Lake Buchanan and the surrounding area. A great time to hike the Eagle View Trail would be right around sunset so you can watch the sun fall and the hills shine. Make sure to complete your trip by taking Texas’ sole chairlift either up or down to save you the effort. It’s also a great way to experience something new and get an even better view of the area!
The surrounding area also has much to offer when it comes to hiking. Make sure to check out a few of the state parks. Some recommendations to visit would be Inks Lake State Park and Longhorn Cavern State Park. These are bound to complete your hiking experience here in Hill Country.
Eagle Watching
Yes, you heard that correctly! The Texas Hill Country is an amazing place to watch for eagles. What better way to honor America than to explore the beauty of our national bird, the Bald Eagle? These creatures are a magnificent sight to see.

Itsy-Bitsy, is a great trail for our riders who want smooth sailing with minimal bumps and no jumps. Better yet, we also offer a FREE lesson for beginners or those needing a boost in confidence.
For the thrill-seeker type, our blue and black trails deliver some serious adrenaline pumps. Our team put together north shore-style trails bringing wooden stunts and big jumps. Get ready for a day of excitement and community!
